It seemed that the best way to get the qualities we were looking for, was to make it ourselves. We did a lot of research, and found help in a good friend, a natural product and peptide chemist who also had background in zoology and botany (amongst other things), and most importantly, a fellow dog lover. We spent years on the formula, making it exactly what we had envisioned originally when looking for a product for Sweet Pea’s paw pads. So of course, we named it after her, put her smiling face on the bottle, and now we’re offering our full line of Sweet Pea’s Paws™ to fellow dog lovers everywhere.

We’ve always been crazy about dogs. In May 2003, we were lucky to become the proud parents of Sweet Pea, an adorable and very sweet Cocker Spaniel puppy. She was an energetic fur ball of a puppy, who would romp around all day and play until she was beyond exhaustion, rest just enough, and begin the cycle all over again. She is everything we have wanted in a dog, and she won us over quickly, finding her place at the foot of our bed at night. Sweet Pea was instantly a member of our little pack at the beginning, and remains a huge part of our lives today with our growing family.

Living in the extreme heat of Arizona, we noticed early on that Sweet Pea's paw pads were really getting worn. They were looking rundown, even though she was a pup. They soon had tags and cracks, and we wanted nothing more than to find her some relief. Not to mention, our leather couches and our bedding were quickly showing wear. The worst part, and the turning point, was seeing how much time she spent licking her paw pads in the evenings.

Determined to find a solution, we started looking to see what products were available. We wanted to make sure that whatever we used on our Sweet Pea was, of course,

• Non-toxic should she lick it
• Safe once it was absorbed into her paw pads
• Certified organic
• Clean to use and stain-free to our household

We were surprised to find that there was literally nothing to match our needs. We found thick, messy waxes, greasy balms and harsh chemicals, but nothing from nature.
