This smells wonderful, what’s in it?
Each product is a unique blend of organic, all-natural essential oils, antioxidants, vitamins, and omega-3’s specially formulated to relieve, soothe, and improve the overall strength of rough paws. Check out the Beauty of Botanicals page for a list of ingredients.
Will it make my dog’s paws fragile from being too soft?
Nope! Because of the specific blend of botanicals, Sweet Pea's Paws line revitalizes the elasticity of the paw pad and actually makes paws stronger over time.
Can I use it anytime?
We recommend using it after a bath or a walk, as opposed to before. Other than that, if Sparky wants a spritz we say go for it! Since our Sweet Pea is in maintenance mode, we find ourselves using it two or three times a week in the more mellow seasons, but for winter and summer we use it more often, and she appreciates it!
Who is this product for?
Dogs! We’ve been sharing Sweet Pea’s Paws with all kinds of dogs, and they love it. It’s even turned out to be helpful for some of our more sensitive dogs, soothing hot spots and paws that are itchy from seasonal allergies. However, we do not recommend using this product on pregnant or nursing dogs, nor should you use it on cats or other non-canine animals.
We have a nut allergy in our home; does Sweet Pea’s TenderPaws contain any nut derivatives
There are no nuts, nut oils, or nut derivatives. And Sweet Pea's GentlePaws is specifically designed not to contain any of the top eight allergens.
Will my dog let me spray her paws? How should I introduce it?
Your dog might not understand what you’re doing at first, since chances are you’ve never sprayed anything on their paws before. Your dog may be hesitant since the only experiences with having paws touched are likely for trimming nails and getting haircuts. But once your dog has experienced the soothing mist a couple of times, they’ll be great with it. Allow a little sniff of the nozzle first, since dogs are naturally curious about what you’re doing. When you lift the paw, let it bend the way it wants to go (towards the dog's underside for the front paws, towards the tail for the rear paws), and bring the bottle to the paw. That way you won’t hurt the leg, or make the dog do a balancing act. If Sparky is resistant at first, you can introduce it more slowly by spraying your fingertips and gently patting it onto the dog's paws. We recommend lots of love and positive reinforcement after application, which in our family means a belly-scratch or a treat!
