DECEMBER 28, 2011 - After more than two weeks of taking fan recommendations for favorite animal adoption and service organizations, Natural Paws has narrowed it down and chosen 7 organizations to receive a total of $1,200 in product donations this holiday season. It's the company's way of saying "thanks" to their fans, as well as thanking the organizations for their great philanthropy and sacrifice. The product donations can be used to help raise funds for the organizations in raffles and silent auctions, gifted to adoptive families, or used in their foster homes while awaiting placement.

The Top Dog winner, receiving 20 bottles of Sweet Pea's ActivePaws valued at a total of roughly $400, is Arizona Search Dogs, a nonprofit organization that trains, certifies, and develops Canine Search Specialist teams to be mobilized with USAR (Urban Search & Rescue) Task Forces. Their heroic teams have been deployed to the World Trade Center, The Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, all major national disaster responses, and local searches for Phoenix Valley residents. Natural Paws' holistic & organic products will help to heal, strengthen and provide anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal relief for these heroic dogs' hard-working paw pads.

All About Animals and Arizona Cocker Rescue, make up the 2nd tier, each organization receiving $200 worth of products, 10 bottles total of holistic paw care products. Both organizations are Arizona-based animal rescue organizations, and provide medical care, fostering, and forever placement of animals who would otherwise be homeless or euthanized.

Local Entrepreneurial Dog Overcomes Eye Loss Using Agility Training 

AUGUST 2, 2011 - An Arizona dog has had an extraordinary life, with ups, downs, and a new start. Sweet Pea is a Cocker Spaniel with the cushy job of Chief Aromatherapy Officer of Natural Paws, a local Arizona start-up company built for and around Sweet Pea in 2005. She tragically lost an eye to glaucoma in 2010 and began struggling with self-confidence, while her playful puppy attitude began to diminish. That is, until she began what would turn out to be her therapy; Agility For Fun at Villa La Paws, where she will graduate with her first filmed course run on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11am PST.

Since 2005, Sweet Pea has been making special appearances at local events such as the Phoenix Pet Expo and Tempe Festival of the Arts, greeting attendees, doing tricks for treats, and of course, showing off her paw pads. "She loves coming to events," says Elyse Horvath, owner of Natural Paws and Sweet Pea's loving mom, "she's actually got a dedicated fan base. If we open our booth at the Art Festival and she's not there, our customers give us a really hard time about it!"

Sweet Pea was diagnosed with a very aggressive case of glaucoma in the summer of 2010, causing her to lose her right eye within a month of diagnosis. After the surgery, Sweet Pea physically felt much better. "You could tell she wasn't in pain anymore; we felt like we had our Sweet Pea back, even though she was now working with impaired vision.." recalled Horvath. "but we soon realized that she was nervous in social situations…her confidence just wasn't there."

After attending the grand opening of Villa La Paws' agility facility and speaking with agility coach Wendi, Horvath decided that the Agility For Fun class was just what Sweet Pea needed to get her groove back. After the very first class, Sweet Pea was like a puppy again. Her confidence brimmed, she became much more playful at home, and her whole demeanor improved. Sweet Pea fell in love with agility, and is ready to return to "work", greeting at the Natural Paws tent events as the sweet girl everyone has grown to know and love.

NATURAL PAWS ANNOUNCES CONTEST WINNERS

MAY 2, 2011 - Natural Paws announced the winners of their "tell your story" contest today. Laura Gilpin has won the grand prize, and the runners up are Tyler Matney and Dana Evans as a close 2nd and 3rd.  Natural Paws extends a sincere thanks for all of the thoughtful and heartfelt entries, all of which will win prizes from the company.

The winning story came from Laura, "mom" of 3 rescue dogs, Hemi (corgi), Nibbler (canaan), and Bug (boxer/bulldog). Laura will be receiving a decadent Natural Foot Care Basket from RD Alchemy Natural Products (www.rdalchemy.com), featuring a full array of signature Medistep (Human) Foot Care products worth $60. According to her entry in the contest, she "originally bought the ActivePaws spray for Bug. She runs 3-5 miles daily and I wanted something that would keep her paws in good condition. And ActivePaws has definitely done that. But it's done so much more than what I bought it for." Her Corgi, Hemi, has had an ongoing "knuckling" issue, causing bleeding in the nails and skin and extreme discomfort. "He has become very sensitive about us touching his feet," Laura writes, "He always fears pain is coming…but I started using ActivePaws on him…it must have felt really good because now, it's like his 'spa' time. The runners-up are also compelling stories. The contest has been extended until April 25, 2011, giving ample time for new users to experience the products and discover their full results, which are typically seen in one to two weeks if used as directed.
